    微电子所成立于1980年,其前身是原无线电电子学系1957年创办的半导体教研组,是专门从事微电子学和纳电子学领域高层次人才培养和科学研究的机构。建所30年来,微电子所在我国半导体及集成电路发展史上取得了一系列代表国家水平、具有标志性的成果,为中国的半导体事业发展做出了突出贡献,累计获国家奖励8项,省部级奖励20多项,授权专利136项。微电子所下设有固体器件与集成技术研究室、集成电路与系统设计研究室、微纳器件与系统研究室和CAD技术研究室四个研究室。2010年10月全所共有教职工96人,其中教授、研究员14人(中国科学院院士1人),副教授、副研究员、高级工程师和高级实验师38人,具有博士学位的教师有51人。经过30年的发展,形成了涵盖微纳电子学和集成电路与系统两个研究方向,建立了比较完善的硅基微电子研究体系,培养了大批高素质的优秀人才,是中国微纳电子学科研和人才培养的重要基地之一。

   清华大学微电子与纳电子学系(以下简称微纳电子系)是以1980年成立的清华大学微电子学研究所为基础,于2004年成立的新系。它的成立标志着我国微电子学研究正向纳电子学逐渐过渡,是学科发展的需要,也是全面提升科研、教学水平的需要。微电子学科是全国重点学科,也是培养我国集成电路产业发展急需人才的重要学科。

 

本科专业:

    微纳电子系本科生一级学科名称为电子科学与技术,二级学科名称为微电子学。

    微纳电子系通过各种教育教学活动发展学生个性,培养学生具有健全人格;具有成为高素质、高层次、多样化、创造性人才所具备的人文精神以及人文、社科方面的背景知识;具有国际化视野;具有创新精神;具有提出、解决带有挑战性问题的能力。具有进行有效的交流与团队合作的能力;在微纳电子领域掌握扎实的基础理论、相关领域基础理论和专门知识及基本技能,具有在相关领域跟踪、发展新理论、新知识、新技术的能力,能从事相关领域的科学研究、技术开发、教育和管理等工作。

    微电子学专业(含教育部质量工程第二类特色专业《集成电路》)的本科生运用所掌握的理论知识和技能,从事大规模模拟及数字集成电路设计和应用,工艺开发,EDA工具开发,新型电子材料、微纳电子器件和系统,量子信息和电子信息系统的理论和应用等方面的科研、开发与教育工作。

    本专业培养在微电子和纳电子领域学术型人才。

    科研:

    清华大学微电子学研究所为国内最早的硅基微纳电子器件研究及集成电路设计、制造、系统集成技术的科研教学中心,具有国内第一条完备的集成电路开发试验生产线。自国家“六五”计划以来,一直承担国家级重大科技项目,为我国微电子技术的发展作出了重要的贡献。主要研究方向为微纳电子学和集成电路与系统,有五个学术研究方向:微/纳电子器件及系统;集成电路与系统;微/纳米工艺学;半导体器件物理与系统的CAD方法;纳电子学与量子信息技术。

    课题及成果:

    2010年微电子所在研科研课题132项,其中,国家重大专项课题18项、“973计划”课题12项、“863计划”课题15项、国家自然科学基金课题19项、国家部委科研课题8项、国际合作课题20项、横向协作课题25项、其他科研课题15项。近年来在领域内顶级期刊“国际固态电路期刊(JSSC)”发表论文5篇,顶级国际会议“国际电子器件会议(IEDM)”和“国际设计自动化会议(DAC)”分别发表论文6篇。

The Overview of IMETU

IMETU, the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University, was founded in 1980 on the basis of the Semiconductor Research Division, which was a research division of the Department of Electronic Engineering established in 1957. The mission of IMETU is to educate top level professionals and deliver scientific innovations in the domain Micro/Nano-electronics. During the past 30 years, IMETU has made significant contributions and key achievements for the development of China’s semiconductor and integrated circuit industry. Its faculty members and students won 8 national awards, more than 20 province or ministry level awards, as well as 136 granted patents. The institute consists of four divisions, Solid-State Devices and Integration Technologies, IC & System Design, Micro/Nano Devices and Systems, and CAD Technology. Up until October 2010, IMETU has 96 faculty and staff members, among which there are 14 professors (including member of Chinese Academy of Sciences) and 38 associate professors. After 30 years of development, IMETU has been China’s leading research and education base in the area of Micro/Nano electronics. It has established a high-quality research infrastructure for microelectronics comprising of two major research directions, Micro/Nano electronics and IC & System Design. Meanwhile, alumni of  IMETU have become the backbone of China microelectronic industry.

 

Undergraduate:

The Primary Major Name of Undergraduate students at Department of Micro-Nano electronics is Electronic Science and Technology. The Secondary Major Name is Microelectronics.

Our philosophy of education is to train students with well-defined individual characters and personalities. Our target is to provide high-quality and high-level graduates with diversity and creativity. The graduates from our department should have excellent humanistic spirit and  background in humanity and social science, the vision of international scope, the motivation of innovation, the capability to summarize and solve problems, the capability of effective communication and teamwork. In their major area, the graduates should have solid fundamental knowledge in micro- and nano- electronics, excellent understanding of the theory and knowledge in their specific area, well-trained basic skills, the capability to track and develop new theory, new knowledge and new technologies in the major area, and the capability to perform research, development , education or management job in their specific area.

      The undergraduate students in the microelectronics major (including integrated circuit, the secondary major approved by the Ministry of Education) are expected to  take research, development or education work on large-scale analog and digital circuit design and application, process development, EDA tool development, emerging electronic materials, micro- and nano- electronic devices and systems, quantum information, or electronic information system theory and application after their graduation.

Highlights of Major R&D Activities:

IMETU is China’s first research and teaching center of micro/nano-electronic devices and IC design, manufacturing, and system integration. The first complete pilot semiconductor process of China was born in IMETU. Since the execution of China’s sixth 5-year program, IMETU has been responsible for many national science and technology projects and made fundamental contributions for the development of microelectronic technology of China. The research of IMETU focuses on 5 categories, micro/nano-electronic devices and systems, integrated circuits and systems, micro/nano-fabrication technology, semiconductor device physics and CAD, nanoelectronics and quantum information

 

Projects and Outcomes:

       In 2010, there are 132 ongoing projects in IMETU. These projects include 18 National Key Science & Technology Projects, 12 National Basic Research Programs of China (973 Program), 15 Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), 19 National Natural Science Foundations of China, and 20 international cooperation programs. In the past 3 years, IMETU faculty members and students published 5 papers on IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (the top journal In the IC design field), 6 papers on IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (the best electronics conference), and 6 papers in IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (the leading conference electronic design automation).

 

Representative Awards in Recent Years:

¨         The project of “Research and Chip Design on the Key Technologies of the Algorithm of Digital Signal Processing” received the second class award of the Science and Technology Progress of Beijing Municipality. (2001)

¨         The project of “The Fully nationally-made ASIC named ‘DTT4C01A’ for the prepaid public telephone IC card” won the first class award of the Science and Technology Progress of Beijing Municipality. (2001)
