Management Trainee

About the Management Trainee Program

This program is designed for full-time management talents who are graduating in 2018 from China’s and overseas universities around the world.

Qualified talents will join a 1.5 years rotation program within core business units of Xiaomi such as Global Expansion, MI Ecosystem, Hardware, MIUI, etc., roles and responsibilities including but not limited to product management, strategy management, and operational management.

The experience will also provide you with solid grounding in relevant industry knowledge, management skills and set a strong foundation for you to develop your career with Xiaomi.

 

You will

  • Have 2 months orientation program to understand the history of Xiaomi and become familiar with different team operations.

  • Rotate through 2-3 different teams to learn about the operations and broaden your understanding of our business.

  • Receive training and performs duties in several teams, set goals and objectives with managements, observe experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of duties.

  • Work closely with engineering, product, marketing, designing, logistics, sales, after-sales, customer support teams etc.

 

Requirements

  • Master degree graduating before July 2018 and capable of joining full-time in Beijing.

  • Relevant internship experience, demonstrated leadership in student council or student organizations are preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, bilingual (English and Chinese) is a must, additional languages is a plus.

  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and possess excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to think “outside the box”, entrepreneurial spirit, not a ""corporate person"" and very outgoing, likeable, presentable, humble and naturally capable of interacting with others.

 

Language Specialist    

Language:

English, Italian, Finnish, Bulgarian, German, Slovenian, Estonia, Danish, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil), French (France), Dutch, Albanian, Polish, Greek, Bosnian, Galician, Basque, Georgian, Malta, Armenia

 

Summary: The Localization Team helps our products look and feel natural everywhere we launch them. We work with engineering and product teams to steer products through the translation and localization process.

 

Responsibilities

  • Test and translate new features for Mi devices.

  • Review and edit MIUI Android translations.

  • Work closely with fans, product teams, and engineers to ensure localization quality.

  • Find, report, and squash translation bugs in the MIUI Android platform.

  • Maintain terminology and glossary for new features and products.

 

Requirements

  • Must speak and write target language fluently and idiomatically.

  • Spoken and written working fluency Chinese and/or English (preferably both) in addition to target language. (For English intern, spoken and written working fluency Chinese is required)

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiar with Android language standards and voice (developer.android.com/design/style/writing.html).

  • Likes tech, modding devices, etc.

  • Previous experience translating for mobile.

  • Familiar with XML, JS, and HTML.

  • Mi phone/MIUI user.

 

Product Operations    

Summary

MIUI is the core product of Xiaomi Company. It represents the whole internet service and ecosystem of software. We are looking for a person who can work on MIUI system app operation, which help to make user more like to use the app.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product team, R&D, testing team, follow project schedule and product cycle, expedite processes till product launch and afterwards

  • Monitor the online performance including user growth, retention, and engagement, and even sudden problems to help engineer

  • Collect and analyze data analyze user feedbacks from different sources

  • Advocate user problem to the team

  • Assist in building new product features, day-to-day maintenance of the apps refresh content, User research, fulfil the product requirement

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in operations or administrative activities in mobile/online application

  • Good organizing skills

  • Very detail-oriented: good eye for details with a -hands-on- and -can do- attitude

  • Self-driven and willing to take initiatives

  • Proficient in English communication to work with Chinese team

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Used to be responsible for your products or features, not only for the faults, but also for the performance, even for the revenue

  • Familiar with Xiaomi Inc. products and culture, MIUI user

  • Chinese language ability

 

Product Marketing Manager     

Summary

As a Product Marketing Manager at Xiaomi Global, you will work with Xiaomi’s product marketing team alongside other business units to launch new products in the international markets. You will craft the messaging and positioning for products and be responsible for presenting our products in ways that will strengthen our brand in international markets and boost sales volumes.

For this role, you will be both an analytical and a creative thinker. You should be familiar with analyzing competitors’ marketing techniques, create product positioning statements, distill relevant product information, and creatively present them to relevant stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with hardware and product teams to understand and analyze new Xiaomi products

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Xiaomi products in the various international market

  • Craft an end-to-end launch keynote for our spokespersons and higher management.

  • That includes developing a product story in different international markets, setting guidelines for product render videos and images, on top of any relevant materials that will be used in the launch presentation.

  • Distill well-research technical data points and transform them into bite-sized, easy-to-understand layman speak using the gift of user scenarios and simple analogies

  • Work closely with various teams (designers, videographers, planners, web developers, etc) to bring each visual and messaging to life, but also work independently to DIY product marketing creative during crunch time

 

Requirements

  • Fluent/native-level English with working level Chinese

  • Bachelor and/or Master degree(s) in Communications, Marketing or a closely related field from a top-tier university

  • Strong design sense and proficient user of basic graphics tools such as Keynote and Photoshop, with the ability to cut simple assets and visual resources, convert images between formats, create high-quality presentations, product sheets and generally deliver on simple design tasks without any assistance

  • Proficient English writer

  • Strong communication and organization skills to work cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner to influence outcomes

  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a constantly evolving context

  • Prior photography experience is a plus

 

 

Sales & Operations Manager

Xiaomi started its India operations in 2014 and has since become one of the top smartphone brands. In 2016, Mi India crossed revenue of US$ 1 Billion, which is the 1st company in India's history to achieve the milestone in such a short period of time! In Q3 of 2017, Xiaomi became the No.1 smartphone brand in India with 23.5% market share according to IDC report.

 

Summary

As a core member of the Mi India sales & operations team based in Beijing, the Sales & Operations Manager is primarily responsible for forecasting, procuring and inventory management to support Mi India's sales & operations. This position works closely with core teams including hardware/software product teams, supply chain team and marketing team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • India's market research, including researching smartphones, distribution channels' best practices, logistics, competitor analysis, users' behaviors, partnerships, financial reporting requirements etc.

  • Planning, including planning sales forecast, production, pricing, channel strategies, P&L.

  • Business and operational metrics, including developing dashboards, process tracking tools

  • Process sales and forecast data

  • Interact cross-functionally with Xiaomi core teams, including working with product management, supply chain, finance & accounting, legal, marketing, logistics, customer support, after sales services

  • Develop full content for presentations

 

Requirements

  • Native Mandarin speaker, excellent English speaker

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a good university

  • At least 1-year experience in smartphone industry

  • Diligent, independent, versatile researcher, capable of identifying, extracting and merging data from multiple sources

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, not a ""corporate person"" and very outgoing, likeable, presentable, humble and naturally capable of easily interacting with others

  • Proficient user of Excel, PPT and experience building compelling presentations (for meetings and external events)
